Our Mission

The Fergus County Disaster and Emergency Services (DES) office is dedicated to assisting the community in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery measures.

What We Do

The DES office coordinates the Local Emergency Planning Committee meetings, maintains the county's Emergency Operations Plan, and activates the Emergency Operations Center as needed.

Lacey Marks, the Deputy Coordinator and Public Information Officer played a pivotal role in the recent Moore Mitigation project, doing all the research and paperwork to obtain the funding and writing the Mitigation Plan.
